Just being random on a slow Sunday...

Some interesting websites:

Toilet for Big People

Speedtrap.org - a website that lists all of the reported speedtraps throughout the US...a good guide for trip planning. I read an article earlier today on Yahoo.com about how speedtrap town citizens are getting pissed over their reputations as speedtrap towns.

I also found an article about sting operations in Texas that involve police going undercover in bars to arrest people for public intoxication. If other states' police departments were to adopt this kind of policy, it could make for some interesting results, since more than a few get plastered every Fri./Sat. night at various clubs/bars. Here's the article.

My vacation begins Thursday!! Heading to Chattanooga first to visit a friend I haven't seen in a while, then off to GA to visit the fam and other friends. Sat. is the Switchfoot concert in S.C., followed by even more fun and going to the beach the next day!! I sooo can't wait, even though there will be lots of driving involved.

But first, my fave show, Everwood, returns on Mon. night at 8pm...2 hours...awesome!!! Hopefully, this won't be the end of its run, but who knows, given network politics lately.

Movies and other stuff

Found: the Smurf bible

What a fantastic weekend!! 50s on Sat. and almost 70 on Sun. Sunshine a plenty. In my former home, Alpharetta GA, it reached 82, tieing the record high for that day. Waaay too friggin hot!! I was sweating with it being only 68 here...and I got to pull out the ol' sandals and shorts...woohoo!! Spring is definitely trying to beat Winter into submission. Of course, Winter returns tomorrow with temps in the 30s! If the temps could just stay between 60-70 in the day and 40-50 at night, I'd be a happy boy! Oh yeah..and the thunderstorms have been an added bonus, for sure...yeah!

I set up a Myspace profile over the weekend too. It seems to be a good way to meet new friends from what I've heard, as compared to sites like Friendster, which I got tired of pretty fast. Still not the best thing ever, but more people I know seem to be on Myspace, so it gets my vote. With that said, if you're on Myspace and I don't already have you as a friend, what the hell are you waiting for...come be my friend!!! lol www.myspace.com/pigfiddle is where it's at, my friends. Don't miss out on the BEST space on Myspace and all the other spaces out there.

Movies:

I haven't been to see as many lately, but I do have to highly recommend two so far this year:

  • The World's Fastest Indian (starring the excellent Anthony Hopkins)...This is such a wonderful feel-good movie, and Burt is such a cool, fun-loving guy.
  • Transamerica (starring the also-excellent Felicity Huffman)...this movie is worth the time just to see Felicity Huffman's performance. I also recommend watching her in an episode of Desperate Housewives to see her range as an actress. The actor who plays Bree's son, Toby, is pretty good too (as well as HOT). One of the best parts of the movie is when Bree and Toby visit Bree's family.

Movies that I am looking forward to seeing are (most recent first):

  • Cache - a French film that has just opened in downtown Ann Arbor (I love having the State and Michigan Theaters so close by!)...looks intriguing. The e in Cache should have an accent mark on it, but I don't know how to do that on here...so shoot me.
  • V for Vendetta - this just looks friggin cool! (out March 17th)
  • Ice Age 2 - hopefully, it'll be as good as the first (out March 31st)
  • Friends With Money - a Jennifer Aniston film with Frances McDormand (one of my favorite actresses)...sounds like a good romantic comedy (out April 7th)
  • On a Clear Day - a UK film that will hopefully be released in Ann Arbor soon (limited release is April 7th)...really looks like a good movie similar to World's Fastest Indian.
  • Silent Hill - looks like a better-than-average video game adaptation; sounds like a cool premise to me (out on April 21st)

Yeah..so this is the end of this post...buh bye.

Concerts I'm Excited About!

Goo Goo Dolls

New album, Let Love In, will be out on April 25th!! That's twice that it's been pushed back, so hopefully, this is the final date. Can't wait! It's only been 4 years since the last all-new album...

Supposedly, the following tracks will be on the cd:

1. Stay With You
2. Let Love In
3. Feel The Silence
4. Better Days
5. Without You Here
6. Listen
7. I Can't Let Go
8. When You're Gone
9. Tuesday
10. Strange Love
11. Become
12. Give A Little Bit (why? this one's kinda done for me)

I heard they will be on tour from May through July, hopefully with Detroit being one of the stops! Johnny can stay at my place...

Switchfoot

On tour for Nothing is Sound this spring...March 15 through April 15. They are performing on my birthday (April 1st) in Myrtle Beach...since I will be in GA then, I'm thinking about getting crazy and going to see them...yeah!!!

They also are performing in East Lansing on April 19th, so that's a possibility too...but not as crazy (and not as fun...and NOT my birthday!).
